Israeli warplanes pounded bases of a pro-Damascus Palestinian militant group near the Syrian border Wednesday as they pressed a week-old air offensive in Lebanon, police said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties from the three sorties launched against two connected bases of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command (PFLP-GC) in Sultan Yaacoub, less than 10 kilometers from the frontier.
Four missiles struck the main part of the heavily fortified warren of tunnels maintained by the PFLP-GC, police said. Two missiles hit a connected base.
