Ministry of Health said Monday that Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) killed 39 first aid workers, doctors, ambulance drivers and nurses since its military operation "Summer Rains" on June 28, 2006.
In a statement the Ministry of Health of Palestine revealed that the IOF denied access to 23 ambulances belong to the Ministry of Health and the Palestine Red Crescent Society as well as kidnapping bodies of victims from the ambulances in different Governorates in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
"A nurse who works in Rafidia Hospital called Ahmed Enaab 40, has been killed and 4 other health workers have been injured due to the IOF strike on Nablus while they were on a head of their professional mission," the Ministry of Health added.
The Ministry of Health called on the international community to hold its responsibilities towards the continuous Israeli escalation through killing the unarmed innocent Palestinian civilians and families, attacking the medical teams, obstructing the ambulances and the frequent Israeli outrages against health facilities which provide human and health services.
It appealed to the international community to oblige Israel to respect the International Conventions and treaties and also, to stop the violations against health and civil facilities.
