Two hours after the Israeli army ordered two families to evacuate their houses, Israeli F 16 fighter jets shelled one house north of Khan Younis and a house in Gaza, at least four residents were injured, the Palestinian Maan news agency reported.
One of the shelled houses belongs to a resident of Al Shujaeyya neighborhood, in the center of Gaza city, while the other house belongs to a member of the Islamic Jihad, north of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
At least four residents were injured in Al Shujaeyya and were transferred to a local hospital suffering from moderate wounds. The shelled house belongs to Salah Al Sha’er.
Maan reported that Al Sha’er received a phone call from Israeli security officers ordering him to evacuate his home in preparation to shell it. Nearby families also evacuated their houses fearing the Israeli shells.
Earlier on Monday, soldiers shelled a house in Gaza city after claming that it is used by fighters for storing weapons.
The owner of the house was ordered to evacuate it, and the army detonated; no explosive material or weapons were found.
