Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, said on Thursday that Fateh and Hamas movements have agreed to reinstate the temporary cease-fire with Israel. He added that this decision also includes other Palestinian factions of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO).
The statements of Abbas came during a graduation ceremony for the Force 17 presidential guard. He said that the deal was reached on Wednesday night during internal talks between Palestinian factions. The Islamic Jihad and other Fateh breakaway factions are not part of the deal.
Abbas hinted during his speech at the ceremony that the deal is important in order to foil the Israeli attempts that aim to exploit the current conditions and fully invade the Gaza Strip.
