Palestinian medical sources reported on Tuesday that nine Palestinian
residents were injured, two seriously, after the Israeli air force
fired missiles at a group of resistance fighters in Al Mansoura Street,
in Al Shujaeyya, east of Gaza City. Three residents, members of the
same family, were taken prisoners in Rafah.

The attack is the latest Israeli military escalation in the area which has been under attack since three days. Army claims that troops are searching for tunnels used by resistance fighters to smuggle arms and ammunition into the Gaza Strip.

Dozens of residents were killed and injured in the ongoing military offensive.

Moreover, Israeli tanks fired several shells at houses and agricultural areas in Beit Hanoun town, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. At least ten shells landed and exploded near  civilian houses.

In a separate incident, military vehicles advanced and army bulldozers advanced for a distance of 400 meters into Palestinian areas near the Sofa crossing, east of Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, opened fire at several surrounding Palestinian areas and arrested three residents.

Adnan Barbakh, media coordinator of the Palestinian National Security forces in the souther part of the Gaza Strip, reported that soldiers took three residents prisoners during the Rafah invasion.

The three are members of the same family, they were identified as Mohammad, Othman and Mousa Abu Moammar.

Barbakh added that soldiers bulldozed and uprooted several orchards in the area causing considerable damage and losses.
