The Beit Iba checkpoint, West of the city of Nablus in the West Bank was closed on Thursday by the Israeli army troops stationed there.

Due to the closure of the checkpoints scores of residents who were out of the city for education, work, or heath purposes were trapped and could not return to their homes in Nablus or the surrounding areas.

Local residents felt that the soldiers closed the checkpoint in the afternoon with malicious intent as they were aware that people would be wishing to return to their homes to break their fast for Ramadan, but were instead forced to stand and wait for hours.
