Arab leaders to help save the schooling system in Palestine as the two
month loss of education could have severe social consequences for the
future generations of Palestine.
The international aid boycott and Israel’s decision to withhold taxes belonging to the Palestinian government has created a complete collapse in the school system, among other public service institutions.
For two months now teachers have been on strike, demanding their seven month overdue salaries. To address this problem the Minister requested that the leaders of the Gulf states and Algeria provide the financial support needed to restart the school system. He said, “We need to address this problem, which is affecting more than one million Palestinian students, with urgency so we can save the school year.”
