The municipality of the Palestinian village of Al Karmel in southern Israel has started to organize a strike for the coming Monday in protest of the Israel's government continued confiscation of land belonging to the village.

The strike was also organized by the association of defending the land in the village and the committees of parents. The decision to strike came shortly after the Israeli district committee for construction made the decision to confiscate 7,000 dunums (1 dunum = 1000 meters) of land that belongs to Al Karmel residents to build a national park.
