Palestinian lawmaker, Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, called on Thursday on the
International Community to send an impartial international probe
committee to investigate the Israeli attacks and “crimes” carried by
the army against the Palestinian People.
The statements of Ashrawi came after the death of twenty Palestinians, on Wednesday, and at least forty were injured after the Israeli army shelled a civilian area in Beit Hanoun, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Eight of the killed are children, all of the casualties are family members and relatives.
All of the killed residents are civilians, they were sleeping in their homes when the Israeli army shelled the civilian area.
In an interview with the Ramattan News Agency, Ashrawi stated that the International Community must send an impartial probe committee and international peacekeeping forces to protect the Palestinian people from the ongoing Israeli attacks.
Also, Ashrawi urged the International Community to hold its responsibilities and stop the Israeli destruction and aggression carried against the residents of the Gaza Strip.
“Israel acts as if it is above the law”, she added, “it commits war crimes against the Palestinian people, there must be an international party to deter Israel”
Moreover, Ashrawi appealed the Palestinian factions to unite and reach a practical agreement in order to form a National Unity Government.
