The Israeli soldiers closed the Huwara checkpoint south of the West Bank city of Nablus and detained scores of residents on Saturday.

Residents reported that troops are searching and messing their belongings as they try to pass through the check point.  Soldiers hold the residents for a long period of time before they finish checking their belongings which made most of them be late for school and work, eyewitnesses reported.

In a related incident Palestinian sources said that the army also installed Yitzhar military checkpoint located just 200 meters away from Huwara checkpoint, soldiers are stopping youth and searching their identification cards and holding some of them.  Yitzhar military checkpoint was removed few months ago.
