The Al Qassam brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said that the group is
developing its military capabilities, and that it will not agree to any
truce with Israel as long as the Israeli military offensives and
attacks continue in the Palestinian territories.
“It is not a secret that we are advancing out military capabilities, we developed new and accurate Qassam shells”, Abu Obaida stated, “We can hit our targets with precision”.
Abu Obaida called on the residents of the Israeli Negev town of Sderot to leave the town “if they do not want to be harmed”.
“We will not stop the firing of homemade shells into Sderot and other areas”, he added, “As long as the Israeli offensive is ongoing, we will not stop”.
On Tuesday morning, Abu Obaida addressed Sderot residents and asked them to leave the town.
“Your leadership is lying to you”, he added, “They want you to believe that the military offensive in Gaza will stop the Qassam shells”.
Abu Obaida also called on the Israeli Defense Minister, Amir Peretz, to send more buses to Sderot in order to evacuate it.
Recently hundreds of residents fled Sderot by buses that took them to Israel area, mainly to the coastal town of Elat
