Palestinian sources in the Gaza Strip reported on Thursday at night that one woman from Jabalia town carried a suicide bombing among Israeli troops operating in the town, the woman was killed and at least three soldiers were injured.

 

Eyewitnesses reported that the woman approached a group of soldiers in Al Karama Street, east of Jabalia and detonated explosives, wrapped around her body, among the soldiers.

Abu Obeida, media spokesperson of the Al Qassam brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said that the woman is a member of Hamas, and that the bombing comes in retaliation to the continuous military offensive in the Gaza Strip.

The woman was identified as Fatima Al Najjar, 57. Three soldiers were injured and were moved to Soroka Israeli hospital in Be’er Shiva.

Israeli army sources reported that soldiers noticed Al Najjar approaching them, and realized that she was a suicide bomber.

According to the army report, soldiers threw a grenade at the woman and the explosives she had on her blew up.
