Palestinian sources reported on Tuesday that president Mahmoud Abbas
arrived in Egypt for talks with his Egyptian counterpart Hosny
Mubarak. The visit came as the Palestinian Prime Minister, Ismail
Haniyya, prepares to leave Gaza in Wednesday on his way to Saudi Arabia.
Nabil Abu Rodeina, the spokesperson of Abbas, will be accompanying the president along with Mahmoud Dahlan, the Ramattan news agency reported.
Media sources reported that Abbas intends to update Mubarak on his recent meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert.
Meanwhile, PM Haniyya is set to leave Gaza on Wednesday on his way to Saudi Arabia.
Haniyya's visit to Saudi Arabia is to perform pilgrimage; he will go to Saudi Arabia through Egypt.
Palestinian Foreign Minister, Dr Mahmoud Al-Zahar, Palestinian Interior Minister, Sa'id Siyam, and the acting parliament speaker Ahmad Bahar will all accompany Haniyya in his trip which will include Kuwait.
