Abu Obaida, spokesperson of the Al Qassam brigades, the armed wing of
Hamas, stated on Friday that two engineers, members of the
“manufacturing division” of the brigades were killed while preparing
explosives in Gaza.  

Abu Obaida stated that the two were preparing explosives in Al Zaytoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City.  

The two were identified as Husam Al Zameely, 23, and Mohammad al Masry, 24.

Medical sources confirmed the death of Al Zameely and Al Masry, and added that three other Palestinians suffered moderate-to-severe injuries as a result of the blast.

Two Palestinians killed in central Gaza City

Palestinian sources reported that two Palestinian men were killed in an
explosion that occured in a house in Al Ziatoun neighborhood in
central Gaza City on Friday afternoon.

 

Doctor Mu'awiyah Hasaneen, the head of the Emergency Room at the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, identified the two as Hasam Al Zimili, 23, and Mohmad Al Masri, 24. 

Dr. Hasaneen added that another three were injured in the explosion, two critically.  The two bodies and the three injured were removed to Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

The Palestinian news agency Maan reported that the two killed were activists for the Al Qassam Brigades of Hamas, and that they died while manufacturing a homemade bomb in one of their houses. 

The exact cause of the explosion is still yet to be determined, since there is no official story by resistance factions or Palestinian Security Forces in the city of Gaza.
