Palestinian medical sources in northern Gaza reported Saturday that a Palestinian was shot and wounded by Israeli army gunfire near the Beit Hanoun industrial zone.
The sources identified the wounded as Mohammad Abu Warda, 22, and stated that he was admitted to the local hospital of Kamal Edwan for treatment.
Gunmen opened fire Saturday morning at an outpost of the Palestinian national security forces in Gaza city. A statement by the national security forces’ media office confirmed that the shootout caused damage to a power transformer in the area.
In the southern Gaza Strip, students of the Al-Aqsa University blocked a main street in Khan Younis city in protest against high tuition fees under the current economic conditions, which are deteriorating due to the internationally-imposed embargo.
The latest developments in internal unrest came while Fatah and Hamas agreed over the weekend to prevent a recurrence of the infighting which has erupted recently in different parts of Gaza Strip, in which at least three people have been killed and dozens others wounded.
