The Central Committee of the leftist Popular Front For the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) issued a statement mourning its leader, founder of the Front and founder of the Arab nationalist Movement, Dr. George Habash, who died on Saturday in the Jordanian capital, Amman, at the age of 82.The Central Committee stated that Dr. Habash is one of the main symbols of the Palestinian national struggle against the Israeli occupation of Palestine, and led the struggle for liberation.
“He was a leader who never bowed to threats, always lived as a revolutionary fighting against imperialism”, the PFLP stated, “He fought for Palestine, for every part of Palestine, from sea to river”.
The PFLP vowed to continue its resistance activities until liberation and independence.
The DFLP added that it opened a mourning house in Gaza ay Rashad Al Shawwa Center and will be receiving condolences there for three days, and another mourning house in Hebron city in the southern part of the West Bank.
