The News Cast
Palestinian sources reported that four Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire during three separate operations in the Gaza strip on Monday. Hussam Abu Hieen was killed when Israeli jet fighters shelled residential areas east of Gaza city on Monday at dawn, medical sources reported. Meanwhile Hani Abu Salah and Tha’er Misbah were killed when Israeli drones, fired missiles at a group of resistance fighters in Khan Younis city in the southern part of the Gaza strip.
Al Qassam brigades, the armed wing of the elected Hamas movement said that the three men killed by the Israeli aerial bombing of Gaza city and Khan Younis were members of their organization.
Midhat Awad, 20, was found dead, on Monday near the Gaza international airport located east of Gaza city.
Local sources reported that Awad was killed by invading Israeli troops that attacked the area on Sunday. Israeli tanks and bulldozers invaded international airport area of Gaza and attacked Palestinian homes , the incursions started Sunday morning finishing on Monday at dawn. Israeli troops snatched around 15 Palestinian civilians and moved them to unknown locations.
Later on Monday, Palestinian resistance groups fired five home-made shells at the southern Israeli town of Sederot near the Gaza strip. Israeli sources said that two children and a woman were lightly wounded when shells landed in a residential area of Sederot.
Thousands of Palestinian men and women including school children and parliament deputy of the ruling Hamas movement took to main streets in the Gaza Strip on Monday, in protest of the ongoing Israeli blockade of the coastal region.
The rally, which began this morning is the largest of the widely spread protests across Gaza.
The local committee for breaking the siege, have launched early ‘ a one-week protest’ locally and internationally against the Gaza seige.
Israel has been enforcing crippling economic closure on Gaza since June 2007 , when the Islamist Hamas took over the coastal territory amidst a power struggle with Fatah, the party of Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas.
Across the West Bank, raids were carried out in the early hours of Monday morning, the Israeli army invaded cities and towns seizing six Palestinian civilians, these various operations took place in Nablus, Jenin and Bethlehem.
