Around 100 Palestinians mostly young children gathered on Monday evening outside the church of the Nativity located in the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, to protest Israeli continued attacks on Gaza.
The gathering was called for by Bethlehem Popular Committees against the Apartheid Wall and the Palestinian Refugee’s Popular Committee.. The children carried Palestinian flags and banners that read ‘Stop the Child killing’ and ‘Stop attacking Gaza’.
Children sang songs calling for National Palestinian Unity, freedom and an end to the Israeli occupation.
Samier Jaber, one of the organizers of on Monday’s sit-down protest, told IMEMC, ‘We condemn what is happing in Gaza; and call upon the international community to help our brothers in Gaza.’
After short speeches in Arabic and English, the rally finished.
The Israeli attacks on Gaza, which escalated on Wednesday and continued through Monday morning, left 120 Palestinians dead and over 300 injured. Of those killed during the five –day offensive, at least 95 were civilians.
