Israeli troops invaded the southern West Bank city of Hebron and broke into three radio stations, confiscating and damaging expensive equipment, local sources reported.

Dozens of soldiers, accompanied by military vehicles, broke into Wan FM Radio; BBC and Freedom Radio stations in the city.

Soldiers detained employees and started ransacking the stations, causing excessive damage.

Troops also confiscated a number of computers, and kidnapped two station managers, taking them to an unknown destination.

Ayman Qawasmi, director of the Freedom Radio, told IMEMC that the Israeli army claims that their transmitters intercept the radio waves of Ben Gorion airport in Tel Aviv.

Qawasmi said that few months ago, troops invaded another radio station in the same building claiming that their transmitter interrupts the airport radio transmissions. He added that this justification is a fabrication used by the army to confiscate the station's equipment and force him to close it down. Freedom Radio is a member of the Network of United Radio Stations (NUR).
