A Lebanese Military source reported Monday, that a Lebanese Shepherd who accidentally crossed into Israel on Sunday night was handed to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).The shepherd, Rabee Zahra, was sent to the Al Naqoura Border Crossing, and was handed to the UNIFIL.
He was herding his sheep in Kafer Shouna area in southern Lebanon.
Israeli sources stated that the shepherd entered Israel by mistake, and that he was let go after interrogation, and after “feeling safe he had no intentions to attack Israeli targets”.
The shepherd entered Shabaa Farms, named by Israel as Har Dov.
The area in question was illegally occupied by Israel during the 1967 Six-Day war.
Before falling under Israeli occupation, the area was controlled by the Syrian army, while Lebanon claims it’s a Lebanese territory.
