On Tuesday, Palestinian Marshal Court in Nablus city, southern West Bank, sentenced a Palestinian Journalist to 18 months in jail.
Tarik Abu Zaid, aged 37, was charged with working for AL Aqsa TV, a Palestinian satellite channel, based in the Gaza Strip, the Palestine Information center Reported.

Al Aqsa TV is run by the Hamas movement which controls the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian President of Fatah, Mahmoud Abbas outlawed Hamas and its organizations in the West Bank after the Hamas takeover of the Gaza Strip in 2006.

Abu Zaid started his journalism career 13 years ago as a Cartoonist and writer; he had been detained by the Israeli military a number of times.

Three months ago the Palestinian Secret Service arrested Abu Zaid for being a correspondent for the AL Aqsa TV, according to the Palestine Information center.
