Three Palestinians were reported injured and detained by Israeli troops on Tuesday at the northern Gaza Strip town of Biet Lahyia.
A number of Israeli tanks stormed the evacuated settlement of Doghet and opened fire at Palestinian workers injuring three of them, witnesses reported.

Troops then detained the three men and took them to an unknown location.

Workers said that one of the three injured men may have been killed by the army fire; the Israeli military issued no report about the incident.

Doghet settlement was evacuated during the Israeli disengagement plan from the Gaza Strip in 2005. Palestinian workers use this area to salvage scrap metal and other materials for sale.

Last week Israeli troops detained 10 workers from the same area. Some of the workers were injured, local sources reported
