He added that according to the principles of Hamas, it is impossible to make peace with “infidels”, and that only ceasefire is possible.

Haaretz added that information provided by Mosab was considered a valuable source of information for Israel as he was in insider amidst the ranks of Hamas for ten years.

The paper also said that Yousef, known as the Green Prince, managed to foil bombings and helped Israel uncover and arrest Hamas cells.

He is also believed to have prevented the assassination of senior figures in Israel. He deserted Islam and became a Christian 10 years ago.

He moved to California in 2007 after he announced moving to the Christian faith.

Mosab, according to Haaretz, was considered a reliable source of information and that his collaboration led to the arrest of several prominent Hamas leaders, such as Abdullah Barghouthi, Ibrahim Hamid, and even Fateh leader, Marwan Barghouthi.

A senior Israeli Intelligence official told Haaretz that Mosab wanted to act against Hamas to “save the lives of the people”.
