Palestinian Security Forces in the West Bank arrested on Thursday three members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) in the northern West Bank city of Nablus on suspicion that they planned attacks against the Israeli military. A Palestinian security source told the Israeli Ynet News PFLP leaders urged the Palestinian Authority to release the three members, but the security forces said that the three would only be released if they agree to refrain from attacking Israeli targets or carrying any attacks that destabilize the security situation in Nablus, according to the sources.
PFLP legislator, Khalida Jarrar, demanded the Palestinian Security Forces to release the detainees, and to put an end to the prosecution and arrests of Palestinians.
Earlier this month, the Palestinian Security Forces in the West Bank said that they arrested six Palestinians in the northern West bank city of Jenin, believed to be affiliated with Al Qaida terrorist network.
There is no direct proof to establish their claimed connection to Al Qaida, but the security forces found home-made explosives with them.
Furthermore, the Hamas movement said that the security forces in the West Bank are ongoing with the arrests against Hamas members and supporters; similar statements were made by the Islamic Jihad.
