The Israeli Foreign Minister has been fielding good press from his plan for a second disengagement of Gaza and plans to expand its infrastructure.Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman continued to push his brand new plan for a second disengagement from Gaza on Sunday, after a meeting with the EU foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton.
He has supposedly presented the new plan to both the Prime Minister and the cabinet but has not received a response yet.
Lieberman is looking for a full disengagement of Gaza, turning over any lingering responsibilities to Europeans and sealing the border between the Strip and Israel.
He has also sweetened the deal by offering that Israel builds a new power plant and desalination facilities, among other things, for the Gazans.
The Foreign Minister also asked Ashton to help encourage the Palestinians to direct peace talks.
