U.S envoy, David Hale, left Ramallah by midnight Sunday following a meeting with Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, and a number of Palestinian officials at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah. Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) secretary-general, Dr. Yasser Abed Rabbo, Palestinian Authority (P.A) spokesperson, Dr. Nabil Abu Rodeina, and the head of the Negotiations Department, Dr. Saeb Erekat, also attended the meeting that focused on resuming direct Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

Hale and his team left Ramallah following the meeting without making statements to the press.

Dr. Abu Rodeina told reporters following the meeting that the P.A is holding talks with the United States and that a development was made. Yet, he added that the official Palestinian stance will be declared after the Quartet Committee issues its official statement.

Abu Rodeina added that talks with the U.S, Arab countries and the Quartet will continue in an attempt to reach a solution for starting direct talks.
