An Israeli military source announced on Monday that a mortar shell hit Ashkol town in the southern part of Israel. According to the sources, the shell landed in open area causing no damage or injuries, adding that the shell came form the Gaza Strip.
None of the Palestinian resistance factions claimed responsibility for the shell. On Saturday, two Palestinian civilians were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Gaza Strip.
Most reports about the home made shells fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel indicate no damage or injuries. Some of these shells land inside the Gaza Strip and most of them go unreported.
