The Ma’an News Agency reported, on Friday, that Palestinian Authority security forces detained three members of the Hamas party in the West Bank in pre-dawn raids.Hamas stated that the raids occurred in the north West Bank district of Nablus.
The raids have been a regular occurrence in both the West Bank, with the Fatah led P.A. detaining members of Hamas, and the Gaza Strip, where Hamas consolidated their 2006 election win, with victory in a violent internal conflict with Fatah in 2007.
These latest arrests come just days after Fatah rejected a new initiative for Palestinian political unity, proposed by Hamas.
