Human Rights Watch has released a report, on Wednesday, claiming that both the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and Hamas in Gaza carry out repeated attacks on the freedom of journalists.The report, entitled “No News Is Good News”, details abuses against Palestinian journalist in both areas of the Occupied Palestinian Territories, giving case examples from 7 journalists and from Watan Television.
Included in the report are recommendations to both the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, and also to the US and EU, as major donors to the PA.
The report notes that during research prior to publication, examples of Israeli abuses of journalists in the Occupied Palestinian Territories were documented also, and will be the subject of a forthcoming report.
