Palestinian sources reported that Israeli settlers assaulted a Palestinian shepherd in Qusra village, near Nablus, on Wednesday and killed one of his sheep.Resident Abdul-Rahman Mousa Abdul-Rahim Abu Reyada, 44, was attacked by 3 armed settlers from Shilo settlement, who entered the land of Qusra village on foot.

According to local medical sources, Abu Reyada was left with bruises all over his body. This is the second such assault in the past 48 hours.

On Tuesday, a settler from of Alia Settlement, attacked a farmer and attempted to stab him.

Recent attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the Nablus area have been at a high level since a family of settlers was killed in Itamar settlement in February.

All settlements are illegal in international law, and under article 49 of the 4th Geneva convention.

Many of the ‘outpost’ settlements, where some of the most right-wing settlers build structures on Palestinian land to try to conquer more land for the state of Israel, are also illegal under Israeli law, although many are subsequently ‘legalized’ by the government. Since its creation in 1948, Israel has never defined its borders, and has continually expanded the territory of its state onto Palestinian land through settlements and military force.
