An Egyptian source said that communication is proceeding between Cairo and Tel Aviv regarding a deal to exchange the Israeli spy Ilan Grabil for 81 Egyptian prisoners in Israel jails .The Egyptian source indicated that the deal has already reached an advanced stage. Egypt will release Grabil in return for Israel releasing 81 Egyptian prisoners , according to an Egyptian newspaper published on Thursday. Egypt’s former ambassador to Israel, Muhammad Asim, stated, “The success of the deal involving the Israeli soldier Shalit , and Israel’s apology to Egypt for the killing by Israeli fire of Egyptian soldiers on the border,†in addition to discussion of the Egyptian-Israeli prisoners exchange, all reflect the diplomacy of Egypt.
Asim added that these achievements don’t mean a good relationship between Egypt and Israel, and they had to be handled ‘away from the lights’ in order to achieve results in keeping with the dignity of Egypt .
