The implementation of the prisoner swap deal will begin Tuesday morning at 6:00 o’clock Israeli media sources reported on Monday.The source indicated that the detainees who are going to Gaza will be transported from and ‘Hadarim’ prison to Karem Abu Salem crossing. Meanwhile, the detainees who are going to the West Bank will be transported to Betunia checkpoint. Gilad Shalit will be transported from his detention place in Gaza Strip to Egypt through Rafah crossing, the source added.
According to the Israeli Prisons Authority, a total of 477 Palestinian prisoners will be released in the first phase in exchange of the captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
According to the Israeli source, the distribution of the to-be freed prisoners will be as follows:
132 prisoners will return to their home in the Gaza Strip,
55 prisoners will return to their home The West Bank including East Jerusalem
55 prisoners will return to their home in the West Bank including East Jerusalem subject to restrictions, as specified in the agreement.
40 prisoners will be deported outside of Palestine.
18 prisoners will be sent to the Gaza Strip for three years.
145 prisoners will be sent to the Gaza Strip.
7 prisoners will return to their home in Israel.
25 female-prisoners will return to their home in the West Bank including East Jerusalem.
1 female-prisoners will be deported to Jordan
1 female-prisoner will be sent to her home in the Gaza Strip
This means that 41 prisoners will be forced to live outside of Palestine, meanwhile, 204 prisoners will not return to their homes, except for 18 of them who will be allowed to go back to the West Bank after three years.
55 of the prisoners will be subject to restrictions as drafted in the agreement.
Detainees who will not be allowed back home
163 will be deported to Gaza, 16 of them will be allowed back in the West Bank in one year. 18 in three years, the rest, except for three, will be allowed into the West Bank after 10-25 years in Gaza.
Female detainees;
27 female detainees will be released, detainee Amna Mona will be sent to Gaza and not to her home in the West Bank, while detainee Ahlam Tamimi will be exiled to Jordan.
second phase, 550 detainees will be released two months after phase one is concluded.
