Leaders of Hamas and Fatah will be holding a meeting on Sunday evening in Gaza to discuss the outstanding issues separating the two movements, the Ma’an News Agency reported Sunday afternoon.
The Hamas Movement’s spokesman, Fawzi Barhoum, told the Ma’an that the leaders of the two groups will be holding a meeting Sunday evening in order to discuss several outstanding issues, including the political arrests and passports issues. The meeting will be implementing what both leaders have agreed on in the Cairo meeting held on Thursday Nov 24, and is preparation for the national meeting to be held on December 20 in Cairo.
This meeting is the first since the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, and the Hamas Political Bureau Chief, Khaled Meshaal, have held a meeting since Cairo in a bid to thrash out a deal to unite the rival groups and pave the way for elections.
