The Israeli Radio reported Monday that the Israeli army and security forces kidnapped in May four Palestinians who allegedly planned to kidnap Israeli soldiers in order to trade them with Palestinian political prisoners. According to the Radio that four are members of the leftist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). They were identified as Salem Ad-Dardasawy, from the central West Bank city of Ramallah, Ahmad Diab Ash-Sheikh and Yousef Oleyyan, from Anata near Jerusalem, and Ghassan Karaja from Safa village, near Ramallah.
Israel claims that the four were also planning to carry out armed attacks against the army, and that the soldiers found several “combat equipment” with one of them.
