Jerusalem – Al-Quds. The “Al-Aqsa Foundation for Waqf and Heritage” assured that the Israeli occupation and all its executive organizations and companies are striving to destroy the historical Islamic sites located in ancient Al-Wad Street.
According to restoration, development and maintenance reasons they are changing the façade of houses and shops along the road that goes between Damascus Gate – one of the most important gates of Jerusalem- and all the several doors of the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque, from the west side to Al-Buraq.
In addition, the Al-Aqsa Foundation stated that in recent years, the Israeli occupation has set up signs along the street referring to “restoration and development works in Al-Was Street”. The Foundation also asserted that the occupation intends to carry out extensive excavation works in the depths of ancient Al-Wad street under the pretext of carrying out restoration and infrastructure repair concerning water, sewage and electricity. Eventually this will lead to the destruction of a great number of ancient Islamic archeological sites, accompanied by the theft of ancient Islamic and Arab relicts aimed at the falsification and “Hebrewization” of history -as it has happened more than once. Besides changing the façade of houses and shops as well as all the names of the streets and little alleys, these actions are aimed at changing the Islamic and Arab urban and cultural heritage of Jerusalem.
The Al-Aqsa Foundation also reported that several Companies and Organizations involved in Judaization and Settlement activities met in order to implement this project. Among them there are the “Jerusalem Development Company”, the “Moriah” and the Municipality of Jerusalem and the so -called “Israeli Heritage Authority”. Moreover the Foundation said that these organizations are greatly financed by several Israeli Ministries and that this project comes within a comprehensive Occupation Project aimed at the Judaization of the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s surroundings, and the whole city of Jerusalem which, during the last few months, has experienced a acceleration of the occupation activities aimed at implementing this Judaitazion scheme. Perhaps, the Israeli Prime Minister’s remarks and his several Ministers’ of the last few days about the settlements in Jerusalem might be translated into a wider project of Judaization.
The Al-Aqsa Foundation concluded that Jerusalem’s Islamic and Arab landmarks will maintain their nobility and their distinct character. This Project of Judaization will not succeed in damaging the thousands of historical and cultural monuments of Jerusalem. The Al-Aqsa Mosque will remain dominant and Jerusalem the flower of all cities and it will crash down all the attempts of adulteration and Judaization/
