Chief Palestinian Negotiator, head of the Negotiations Department at the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), Dr. Saeb Erekat, stated that Israel is responsible for the latest escalation against the Gaza Strip due to its ongoing illegal measures. Dr. Erekat said that Israel is still occupying the Gaza Strip by its ongoing siege and embargoes, therefore, it should be held accountable for “any harm to the Palestinian people”, the Palestine News Network (PNN) reported.
He added that the International Community must intervene and “stop Israel’s ongoing massacres against the Palestinian people”, especially in the Gaza Strip.
The official added that the International Committee must prevent these crimes and should act on stopping Israel’s siege and ongoing escalation that affects that lives of the entire population in the Gaza Strip.
