Medical sources reported Saturday that several Palestinians have been injured, and several others have been kidnapped, by Israeli soldiers who violently attacked protesters marching in different parts of the occupied West Bank in support of Gaza living under ongoing military aggression that led to the death of 40 Palestinians since Wednesday. The Israeli army carried out 200 strikes against Gaza early on Saturday, targeted resistance centers, government buildings including the ministerial council, in addition to dozens of Palestinian homes leading to a large number of casualties.
In Nablus, in the northern part of the West Bank, the army violently attacked dozens of Palestinian youths who held a protest near the Huwwara roadblock, south of the city.
The soldiers fired gas bombs, rubber-coated metal bullets, and rounds of live ammunition; four were injured, including one who was shot in the head while eight have been kidnapped.
The Maan News Agency reported that local youths hurled stones and empty bottles at the soldiers who attacked the protesters, and the army fired dozens of rounds of rubber-coated metal bullets, and gas bombs, in addition to some rounds of live ammunition.
A medic working for the Palestinian Medical Relief, identified as Isra’ Hdeiba was injured in the head as she tried to provide medical attention to wounded Palestinians.
The army also damaged an ambulance that belongs to the Medical Relief while trying to transport a wounded Palestinian to hospital. The attack took place near the Ofer prison, in the Ramallah district.
Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi, head of the Medical Relief, stated that the army deliberately fire rounds of live ammunition and four gas bombs at the ambulance causing excessive damage.
Barghouthi added that this attack proves that Israel does not only target the civilians, but also targets the medics and medical teams.
Dozens of residents were injured when the army attacked nonviolent protesters near Al-Jalama roadblock, east of the northern West Bank city of Jenin. The army attacked the protesters with gas bombs, rubber-coated metal bullets and rounds of live ammunition. Similar clashes took place on Friday evening.
Clashes also took place in Al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, as the army also attacked protesters of the Israeli war on Gaza.
Israel carried over night hundreds of air strike and fired dozens of shells into different parts of the Gaza Strip, hitting resistance centers, government buildings and dozens of civilian homes leading to excessive damage and a large number of casualties.
Resistance groups continued to fire shells and missiles into different Israeli areas in retaliation of the ongoing Israeli aggression that led to the death of 40 Palestinians, including infants, children and women, while hundreds of residents have been injured by Israeli fire and shells since the aggression started last Wednesday.
It is worth mentioning that Israel decided to call up 75.000 reserve soldiers to participate in the war against Gaza, while placing plans for an imminent large-scale ground offensive.
Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported, Saturday, that four Palestinians were killed during the ongoing Israeli assault against Gaza; 8 have been killed since dawn hours Saturday while at least 41 have been killed Since Wednesday evening; the number of wounded Palestinians exceeds 400.
