The latest developments since the press release issued by PCHR yesterday noon, 21 November 2012, have been as follows:
The Northern Gaza Strip:
Israeli warplanes launched 24 airstrikes targeting houses and members of armed groups. As a result of these attacks, 5 Palestinians, including 3 civilians, were killed, and 35 others, including 32 civilians, including 10 children and 11 women, were wounded.
At approximately 14:10 on Wednesday, 21 November 2011, an Israeli drone fired a missile at the garden of a house belonging to Talal Saadi al-Assali, 48, in Ebad al-Rahman neighborhood in Jabalya. Al-Assali was killed together with his son and his daughter: Ayman, 19; and Abeer, 12.
At approximately 16:30, an Israeli drone fired a missile at a number of Palestinian civilians in al-Salatin Street in Beit Lahia, killing one of them, Fadi Mousa Sameer al-Qatanani, 29, and 6 others, including two children, were wounded.
At approximately 17:00, an Israeli drone attacked members of an armed group in Tal al-Zartar area in Jabalya killing one of them and wounding another one.
Israeli forces also bombarded 2 houses, injuring 2 civilians, including 2 children.
Gaza City:
Israeli warplanes have launched 10 airstrikes targeting flats, members of armed groups, a press office and a stadium. As a result of these attacks, 4 Palestinians, including 2 children, were killed. In addition, 5 civilians were wounded. A civilian also died of a previous wound.
On Wednesday noon, 21 November 2012, an Israeli warplane fired a missile at a member of an armed group in al-Shujaiya neighborhood in the east of Gaza City, killing him.
At approximately 14:00, an Israeli warplane fired a missile at an open area in al-Nafaq Street in the north of Gaza City, killing Mamhoud Atiya Abdul Raziq Abu Khousa, 13.
At approximately 15:00, an Israeli warplane fired a missile at al-Jeel press office on the 7th floor of Neima builaing in al-Remal neighborhood in the center of Gaza City. As a result, Abdul Rahman Majdi Ramadan Naeem, 2, was killed.
At approximately 19:50, an Israeli warplane fired a missile at a member of an armed group in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, killing him.
At approximately 21:00, an Israeli warplane fired a missile at a flat belonging to Jamal Mohammed al-Zibda, 51, on the 3rd floor of al-Waleed building in the center of Gaza City. The flat, which had been already evacuated, was destroyed.
The Central Gaza Strip:
Israeli warplanes have launched 13 airstrikes and some artillery attacks. As a result of these attacks, 8 Palestinians, including 3 civilians, were killed, and 12 civilians, including 6 children and 2 women, were wounded.
At approximately 14:10, an Israeli warplane fired a missile at Mubarak Ibrahim Abu Ghoula, 24, when he was walking in the west of al-Nussairat refugee camp, killing him.
At approximately 16:15, an Israeli warplane fired a missile that landed near a house belonging to Maher Mohammed al-Nabahin, killing his child, 4-year-old Riham, and wounding his wife.
At approximately 16:20, Israeli warplanes bombarded a house belonging to Maher Saadi Abu Kmail, killing 5 members of armed groups.
At approximately 19:30, an Israeli warplane attacked Nader Yousef Abu Mughassib, 14, in Deir al-Balah, killing him.
Khan Yunis:
Israeli warplanes have launched 4 airstrikes targeting agricultural areas, flats and an apartment building.
At approximately 20:55, Israeli warplanes fired 2 missiles at a flat on the 4th floor of an apartment building in Shurrab area in Khan Yunis. The flat was destroyed and a nearby one was heavily damaged. The whole building was also damaged.
At the same time, Israeli warplanes fired 2 missiles at a building belonging to Mohammed Khader Shurrab. The building was damaged.
Rafah:
Israeli warplanes have launched 11 airstrikes and some artillery attacks. As a result of these attacks, 2 Palestinian civilians were killed and 3 members of armed groups were injured.
At approximately 18:30, an Israeli warplane fired a missile at 2 civilians who were walking in a street in al-Shouka village, east of Rafah. The 2 civilians were killed: Mohammed Kamel Abu Edwan, 18; and Abdullah Talaat Ibrahim, 18.
At approximately 19:55, an Israeli warplane fired a missile at members of an armed group in al-Nasser village, northeast of Rafah, wounding 3 of them.
During the day, Israeli warplanes launched several airstrikes on tunnels at the Egyptian border and on open areas.
PCHR reiterates condemnation, expresses utmost concern for these crimes, and:
1- Calls upon the international community to act immediately to stop these crimes, and renews the call to the High Contracting Parties of the Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their obligation under Article 1 of the Convention to ensure that it is respected at all times, and their responsibilities under Article 146 to pursue perpetrators of serious violations of the Convention, which are determined in Article 147, which lists violations of the Convention amounting to war crimes;
2- Calls for establishing an international fact-finding mission to investigate war crimes committed by Israeli forces against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, and to take necessary measures to prosecute the perpetrators.
