Tuesday May 21 2013, Israeli bulldozers of the Jerusalem City Council demolished a Palestinian home in Khallit Al-Ein area, in At-Tour neighborhood, in occupied East Jerusalem.The Palestine News Network (PNN) has reported that the soldiers forced members of the Abu Sha’lan family out of their home, and demolished it under the pretext that it was built without a construction permit.
PNN added that the soldiers surrounded the area before leveling the home, rendering nine family members homeless.
Local sources reported that the wife and the mother of Abu Sha’lan suffer various health complications.
Israel decided to demolish the property in 2007, and the family filed several appeals. It is located near the recently demolished residence of Abu Gheith family.
In related news, the army handed out warrants for the destruction of seven residential structures in Khirbit Um Al-Kheir village, in Yatta town, south of Hebron.
