Welcome to Palestine Today, a service of the International Middle East Media Center, www.imemc.org, for Tuesday December 24, 2013.
Palestinians Christians celebrations were interrupted today by Israeli army attacks on Gaza that left two civilians killed. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.
The Israeli army has bombarded several areas in the Gaza Strip, killing two Palestinians, including one child, and wounding at least four, one seriously. Two of the wounded are children.
Medical sources say that Hala Ahmad Al-Boheiry, 3, was killed by an Israeli missile in central Gaza, and four were wounded in the shelling, one of them in a critical condition.
The sources added that Hala’s mother, her brothers Bilal, 3, and Mohammad, 6, were injured when the army bombarded a house near a chicken farm, east of al-Maghazy refugee camp, in central Gaza.
Furthermore, a young man was also killed when the Israeli Air Force fired missiles into Beit Lahia town, in northern Gaza. Another Palestinian was moderately wounded in the attack.
Meanwhile, the Hamas-led government in Gaza vacated its entire headquarters, fearing a possible Israeli military escalation against the coastal region.
In the West Bank, Israeli soldiers invaded, between Monday evening and Tuesday morning, several areas in the occupied West Bank, kidnapping eleven Palestinians, including six in the northern West Bank district of Nablus.
Elsewhere dozens of Israeli soldiers have invaded the Fasayel Al-Wousta area, in the Jordan Valley, on Tuesday midday and demolishing one home and four sheds.
In other news, thousands of Palestinians gathered in Tuesday at the Manger Square just outside the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem city, southern West Bank to celebrate Christmas. The Palestinian presidents Mahoud Abbas and many local and international officials joined the celebrations.
