[Tuesday, January 14, 2014] Dozens of Israeli settlers, protected by soldiers, took over a Palestinian-owned plot of land in an area east of the city of Hebron, and began planting it with olive trees on Tuesday, according to a local witness.Rashid al-Tamimi, a resident of Hebron, told the Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) that dozens of settlers began farming a 150-dunum (37 acres) lot belonging to Palestinians as a prelude to taking it over, in order to expand a nearby illegal settlement.
Israeli forces have prevented the Arab owners of that area from entering their land since 1972, he said, under the pretext that it is used for Israeli military training.
