[Sunday at Dawn, January 19, 2014] Palestinian medical sources have reported that at least two Palestinians, including a child, have been injured after the Israeli army bombarded an area in northern Gaza. The army also bombarded resistance centers in central and southern Gaza. The sources said that the Israeli Air Force fired at least one missile at a motorcyclist in the Saftawy area, north of Gaza, severely wounding one resident, 22 years of age, and moderately wounding a 12-year-old child.
The two suffered injuries to various parts of their bodies; the 22-year-old was moved to the Shifa hospital in serious condition, while the child was moved to the Kamal Adwan hospital.
Furthermore, the Israeli Air Force fired missiles into a number of resistance centers in the central and southern parts of the Gaza Strip, causing damage but no injuries.
The Israeli army claimed its bombardment came in retaliation to homemade shells fired from Gaza into the Sdot Negev Regional Council of settlements, in the western Negev.
