[Sunday Evening, January 26, 2013] Israeli soldiers kidnapped five Palestinians, in three separate incidents, in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, media sources in Hebron have reported.The sources said that undercover soldiers of the Israeli army kidnapped Sakher Khalil Abu Mariyya, 21, as he was standing next to his car, near a crossing leading to Beit Ummar town.
Mohammad Ayyad Awad, spokesperson of the Popular Committee against the Wall in Beit Ummar, stated that the undercover soldiers jumped out of a vehicle they had driven into the area, and dragged Abu Mariyya into their car before taking him to the Gush Etzion military base.
Awad added that the kidnapped Palestinian have two brothers who are currently imprisoned by Israel, and are awaiting trial in Israeli military courts.
The two, identified as Habes, 26, and Jihad, 24, previously spent years in Israeli prisons and detention camps.
Two more Palestinians, who remained unidentified, have also been kidnapped by the army in Hebron city, on Sunday.
Israeli military sources alleged that the two carried a grenade and a rifle, and were moved to an interrogation facility.
It is worth mentioning that Israeli soldiers kidnapped three Palestinians on Sunday evening, during an invasion into the Ya’bod village, near the northern West Bank city of Jenin. Clashes took place between the invading soldiers and local youth.
The three kidnapped Palestinians have been identified as Mohannad Ahmad Abu Bakr, 29, Majd Mahmoud Abu Bakr, 17, and Mohammad Mojahed Yassin, 15.
