Egyptian authorities opened, on Saturday morning, the Rafah crossing both ways after 50 days of closure.An Al Ray correspondent said that the Egyptian side opened the crossing gate at 10:10; 5 buses of Palestinian passengers have been allowed into the Egyptian Hall so far.
Egypt decided, last Thursday, to open the Rafah crossing exceptionally for three days, from Saturday to Monday.
Most of the potential Gazans earmarked for departure are humanitarian cases of patients, students and owners of residence visas nearing expiration.
Since the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi on July 3, 2013, Egypt has been constantly closing the Rafah crossing, opening it only two or three days at spaced intervals to humanitarian cases.
