An informed source has told Al Ray Palestinian Media Agency that Rami Hamdallah is now the head of the forthcoming national reconciliation government. According to Al Ray, the source confirmed that the Hamas and Fatah movements have both agreed to appoint Hamdallah as the prime minister of the unity government which will consist of 15 ministers.
Furthermore, senior Fatah member and reconciliation official, Azzam al-Ahmad, is heading to Gaza next Saturda to finalize the formation the national unity government.
Hamas and Fatah signed a reconciliation deal in Gaza, on April 23 of this year, with hopes of healing the rifts that have marred their relations since 2007.
