Israeli troops kidnap civilians and clashes with local youth in the west Bank, meanwhile Israeli navy attack fishermen in Gaza. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.
Israeli soldiers invaded, on Tuesday morning, Huwwara town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and clashed with dozens of local youth who threw stones and empty bottles at them.
Witnesses said that clashes took place along the main road in the town, and that the army fired dozens of gas bombs, concussion grenades and rubber-coated metal bullets.
Earlier on Tuesday at dawn, Palestinian sources have reported that Israeli soldiers invaded Palestinian communities near of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and kidnapped four Palestinians, including one child. Soldiers also kidnapped a Palestinian near the northern West Bank city of Jenin, after searching his family home.
Moreover, Israeli bulldozers continued with their demolitions, Tuesday morning, beginning with a barrack in Hizma, to the north of Jerusalem, under the pretext that the structure had been built without a permit and was located near the separation barrier.
Furthermore, Israeli forces closed several shops in the area, intending to demolish them later.
Soon after, bulldozers also destroyed two other structures and barracks in Silwan, to the east of Jerusalem.
In other news, The family of slain the Palestinian man, who was shot and killed by Israeli military fire, late on Monday night denied and strongly condemned Israeli allegations that he was armed and fired at the soldiers before he was gunned down.
The victim, ‘Ala Mohammad Odeh, 30 years of age, is a married father of two children. He was shot at the Za’tara roadblock, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus. The army claimed Odeh shot an Israeli soldier, wounding him in the leg, before the soldiers shot him dead.
His family said that Odeh went to the roadblock to receive a shipment of cellphones for his store, and that he decided to cross the roadblock on foot to save time as the roadblock was jammed. He then asked the taxi driver, who transported him, to wait near the roadblock, and tried to cross it on foot. The army withheld Odeh’s body, and said they would hand it over to the family later on.
In the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, Israeli navy ships fired rounds of live ammunition at Palestinian fishing boats near the Gaza shore.
Local sources said that the attack took place in the Sudaniyya area, northwest of Gaza city, and that the boats were within the six nautical miles unilaterally allocated by Israel for the fishers.
The attack led to property damage but no casualties; the fishermen sailed back to the shore fearing further Israeli assaults.
