Early today, Israeli bulldozers demolished a two-story Palestinian home in the Khirbet al-Ras neighborhood of Idhna, in Hebron, according to Mayor Hashim Tmeizi. The 200-square-meter structure belonged to one Muhammad Hussein Farajallah, and housed a family of six.A spokesman for Israel’s civil administration told Ma’an News Agency that the house was constructed ‘illegally,’ and gave no further details.
According to the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, Israel has demolished 248 Palestinian structures and displaced 492 people in 2014 alone.
Some 27,000 Palestinian homes and structures have been demolished by Israel since it occupied the West Bank in 1967, in contravention of international law.
The Hebron area is known for its frequent violations, by Israeli soldiers and civilians, against the Palestinian people and their property, often leading to violent clashes and disputes.
