The Israeli army, on Wednesday, again opened live fire on farmlands in the Gaza Strip, WAFA and Anadolu Agency reported.Soldiers stationed along the border to the east of Rafah opened heavy gunfire at farmlands on the environs of Rafah, destroying crops. No injuries were reported and the army did not issue any immediate comments on the incident.
Israeli army opens fire routinely at Palestinian fishermen and farmlands along the Gaza border, clearly violating the recent ceasefire deal reached between Israeli and the Palestinian factions in Gaza.
The Israeli and Palestinian sides reached an Egyptian-brokered, open-ended ceasefire deal on August 26th, ending a summer-long Israeli onslaught on the Strip.
Over 2,200 Palestinians, overwhelmingly civilians, were killed and 11,000 others were injured during the onslaught which resulted in the demolition of thousands of houses.
