Israeli soldiers invaded, on Wednesday at dawn, the village of Burqin, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, and clashed with local youths, before shooting dead a young Palestinian man.Medical sources in Jenin have reported that Mohammad Ahmad ‘Alawna, 21 years of age, suffered a serious gunshot injury to the chest, and was instantly moved to the Operations Room in the Jenin Hospital, where he died of wounds.
The sources said the live round struck the slain Palestinian below his heart, and that the seriously wounded young man was under surgery for approximately six hours.
The Israeli army claimed the soldiers invaded Burqin in an attempt to arrest a “wanted Palestinian,” without revealing his name, and clashed with local youths, ‘who hurled stones and empty bottles on them.’
The soldiers fired dozens of rounds of live ammunition, in addition to rubber-coated metal bullets, gas bombs and concussion grenades.
