The Arab Parliament has strongly condemned recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he openly called for the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza through the Rafah border crossing, in Gaza’s southmost part.
The Parliament described these remarks as a continuation of Israel’s longstanding policy of ethnic cleansing and systematic forced transfer.
Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi asserted that such rhetoric constitutes a grave violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, and relevant UN resolutions.
He emphasized that these calls represent a direct assault on the Palestinian people’s right to remain on their land and to establish an independent, sovereign state. The remarks, he added, also pose a serious threat to regional and global peace and security.
Al-Yamahi stressed that forced displacement is a fully constituted war crime that does not expire with time. He reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s unwavering attachment to their homeland and their rejection of any schemes aimed at uprooting them.
The Arab Parliament reiterated its absolute rejection of all displacement attempts, whether in Gaza, the West Bank, or any part of the occupied Palestinian territory, and condemned any efforts to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
It also reaffirmed its full support for the unified Arab stance opposing forced transfer and the erasure of Palestinian rights.
The Parliament called on the international community, the UN Security Council, and the United Nations to fulfill their legal, moral, and humanitarian obligations by halting these grave violations, curbing incitement by Israeli leaders, and ensuring international protection for the Palestinian people.
It urged serious efforts to enable Palestinians to exercise their legitimate right to self-determination and to establish an independent, sovereign state, described as the only path to achieving a just and lasting peace that guarantees security and stability in the region.
